The Mijas City Council and Centro Dental Sermadent recently signed a charitable agreement.

This project was part of a collaboration agreement that Centro Dental Sermadent and the Mijas City Council executed for the implementation of a programme known as Beca Sermadent/Sermadent Grant, by which our dental centre is committed to work towards the care and improvement of the oral health of those people who live in Mijas and who are in the highest risk groups after having suffered a dental health problem. Our services will be free of charge for them.

The City Council is in charge of selecting the beneficiaries of such assistance programme by emplying objective criteria regarding the economic situation and the risk of social exclusion of those people. This programme that can be accessed by people referred to by municipal social services in order to have oral health treatments free of charge with no restrictions of any nature. “The aim is to provide the best solution possible to restore the health, functionality and the aesthetics of the smile of each of these patients”, says Sergio Gómez, Dentist and the Head of Centro Dental Sermadent. Besides, during the signing of the agreement, Mayor of Mijas Josele González, stated that this agreement is inside an ideal platform “to encourage projects and actions which, due to their characteristics, will favour and benefit residents of the municipality”.

Beca Solidaria (Charitable Grant) is a project that professionals at Centro Dental Sermadent feel very passionate about, as they believe they can help an association and make the dreams of those with no means come true and make them feel part of the experience. On the other hand, once all applications have been submitted, as indicated in the bases of the competition, an expert independent jury will be in charge of choosing the winner of the Charitable Grant. The selected project will be published on the website of the City Council and on Centro Dental Sermadent social media channels. Later on, our dental centre will contact the winning social entity to inform them of the necessary steps to sign the collaboration agreement between the centre and the association with which to develop the charitable initiative.
In addition to economic benefits, the winning association will improve its visibility and notoriety thanks to the fact that its activity will be disseminated through the communication channels of Centro Dental Sermadent to promote its Corporate Social Responsibility.
