"We are professionals in creating beautiful smiles, modifying the shape and the colour of your teeth."
What is cosmetic dentistry?
When your mouth, teeth and gums are healthy, there remains the option of improving the aesthetic appearance of your teeth.
At Sermadent Dental Centres we have the techniques and knowledge to improve your smile. If you are concerned that the final result may not be what you expect, then we can do a “Digital Smile Design” so that you can what the outcome will be, before starting any treatment.

There are various ways in which you can improve your smile:
Crowns can be primarily made of two different materials:
- Metal and Porcelain: These have a metal interior, which is not visible from the outside.
- Zirconium: these have a better cosmetic appearance because zirconium is a white coloured metal, and results in a more natural appearance.
Composite veneers: The front surface of the tooth is covered with a specific composite material, similar to that which we use for fillings but with a better cosmetic finish. The tooth is only very minimally filed, and only what is necessary, so that they align correctly with the adjoining teeth.
Porcelain veneer: the teeth are filed slightly more on the exterior surface, measurements taken and then sent to the laboratory so they can prepare the veneers, which are then cemented to the teeth.
Solicita PresupuestoThe treatment step by step
Step 1: Preparation In order to do crowns or veneers, as well as making sure that everything is healthy, it is necessary to file (make slightly smaller) the teeth which are being treated. For veneers, only a few microns of the outside surface are removed. To prepare crowns, all of the tooth´s surface needs to be prepared. Sensitivity may occur in the first few days, but this is usually only temporary.
During this step we perform a photographic study, which can be accompanied by a Digital Smile Design. This allows us to see the final result in the mouth, in the form of a mock up, without even having started the treatment.
Once we have optimized the treatment and are sure of the desired outcome, our specialists will proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Measurements and bite registration The manner in which we take these measurements depends on the type of cosmetic treatment you need, but by general rule, is done using a 3D intraoral scanner. This scanner allows for greater precision than previous models, as the laboratory receives digital information and more complete measurements. In some cases, we may also take a silicon (or other material) impression.
Step 3. Tests : Once the impressions are sent to the laboratory the manufacture of the veneers or crowns begins. For a better final result it is often necessary to perform some tests. Sometimes this may be a test of the metal structure, a bite test, or a cosmetic test. With these, we ensure that the prosthesis is adapted to the patient in the best way possible, that the patient is satisfied and thus avoiding problems at the end of the treatment.
Step 4: Placement and warranty Once the veneers or crowns are finalised, they are placed in the mouth, and cemented in place. After which, we remain at your disposal to resolve any biting or other issues that may occur.
At Sermadent Dental Centres we also give you a written warranty for our treatments. All our removable prostheses are covered by our Gold Warranty for one year, and our fixed prosthesis are covered for two years with our Platinum Warranty. More information can be obtained in our centres.
